Site surveys

Some jobs need a visit before you can price them. A site survey records each surface with measurements, conditions and photos, and produces a report you can send.

Start a survey

  1. Schedule the survey visit on the job like any other visit.
  2. On the day, open the job and tap Start survey (also on the dashboard's Next up card).
  3. Check in when you arrive.

Record the site

The survey follows the job: the client, then each location, then its surfaces.

  • Header: surveyor, date and time, and the weather at the time (filled in from the National Weather Service when there's signal; edit it if it's off).
  • Each location: site name or store #, address, the on-the-day site contact, and site access: allowed work hours, after-hours or weekend work, parking, loading dock / freight elevator / stairs only, check-in or escort, COI required (and who to send it to), PPE or safety rules, power, and where to stage materials. + Add location for a job that covers several sites.
  • Surfaces at each location (one per window, wall, floor area or vehicle side): name or position, work type (window, wall, floor, vehicle, other) with its fields (for windows: 1st surface = outside face of the glass, 2nd surface = inside face; glass notes such as tempered or low-E), one or more measurements (W x H, with the total sq ft worked out), condition, existing graphics to remove, obstructions, max working height and ladder / scaffold / lift, adhesion test, sun exposure, indoor or outdoor.
  • Photos on each surface: at least one wide shot and one close-up are required; a tape-measure photo helps. Type a note before taking a photo to label it.
  • Recommendation: suggested material, crew size, estimated hours or days, risks. Internal only: it never appears on the client's report.

The survey saves as you go and works without signal; changes and photos sync when you're back online.

Finish and send

  1. Tap Complete when you're done (every surface needs its wide shot and close-up). The survey report PDF is built: the header, each location's access, and each surface with its measurements and photos. No prices and no recommendation.
  2. Owners and office can Send survey report to the company or client.
  3. Create quote from survey turns the same job into a quote request: each location gets its surfaces as specs and its sq ft, and the Pricing section gets a draft line per surface (qty = sq ft) for you to price.

Edit survey reopens it if you need to change something; send the report again afterwards.

Survey fee

If you charge for the visit, set a survey fee on the job. Invoice survey fee bills it on its own. Close survey ends a survey that won't go further.

Crew

Crew can run surveys on jobs they're assigned to. They never see the survey fee or any other amounts.
